Stephen is a master carpenter, BCIN-certified independent designer, and a continuous learner through Passive House Canada, committed to creating homes that are durable, comfortable, efficient, and thoughtfully detailed. With over 20 years of practical experience, his story moves from custom cottages in Muskoka to renovations Kingston homes to unique environments at CFS Alert and supporting Canadian forces at CFB Trenton.

Stephen lives in Frankford, Ontario, with his family on a managed forest woodlot— in a home they built with a newborn in hand, who now offers strong opinions of their own. It’s a daily reminder of building with purpose and lasting value.

Steve renovated our entire house - took it all back to the studs and added on an addition to our tri-level home that essentially doubled our square footage. I got his name from my plumber. Very happy with the results. Steve took our basic requests and built us a dream we couldn't envision.

We've worked on several more projects with Steve: adding a bathroom (framing, drywall, tile, shower enclosure installation), decks, interior and exterior staircases, fireplace surround with custom clay finish, window wells, foundation parging, baseboards and more. When we do come across some specialty that isn't yet in his wheelhouse (like plumbing or electrical) Steve gives referrals to equally capable people. We feel so lucky to have found Steve. He is the contractor friend we always wished we had. One who listens to our dreams and hopes and helps us figure out what we actually want, how to get it done (and then does it.) It's so refreshing to work with him.
